We are interested in teachers who are proficient in one or more languages spoken in Africa, who have relevant teaching experience, especially in language pedagogy and who have cultural competence and an understanding of African cultures, customs, and traditions.

Yes. At LingoAfrica we appreciate language expertise in all forms. 

No, we expect our teachers to be able to speak their selected language at an advanced level.

Yes. Teachers are able to sign up for free at no cost. Once you start teaching students, LingoAfrica takes a commission of 33.33% of each class fee signed up by a student.

To become a teacher, click on the “create an account” button and complete your application as a teacher. Make sure to upload a clear professional picture of yourself. Provide some interesting information about yourself in the “tell us about yourself” section. This section becomes your profile and will be visible to all students when they want to select their language teacher. Choose your available timeslot using your own timezone. Click submit and your application will make its way to the LingoAfrica team.

Once application is submitted, a member of the LingoAfrica team will review your application. Once approved, you will receive an email notifying you your application has been approved.

Teachers will receive another email from a LingoAfrica team member about completing the child-protection course before their first class begins. If the course is uncompleted within 10 days, the teacher’s account will be suspended until course completion.

Our team will provide templates of language curriculum. Each teacher is responsible for developing their own curriculum while maintaining the core of the language pedagogy and professionalism of LingoAfrica.

You will need a laptop/desktop computer with video and audio capabilities and a stable internet connection for teaching students. Teachers will use a zoom for the virtual classrooms. On some occasion, class will be conducted using google meet.

At LingoAfrica, we follow strict rules and guidelines to ensure the safety of our teachers and students. We expect the highest level of professionalism from both our students and teachers. If teachers are being harassed, we request an email be sent to info@lingoafrica.us providing the details of the harassment. After completing an investigation and the student is found liable, the student’s account will be suspended.
