Shaakirah is a foundation phase teacher educated in the growth and education of young learners. Shaakirah undertook courses in the field of educating young learners, learners with barriers and teaching English to speakers of other languages. Apart from a Bachelors in Education Degree, Shaakirah holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Inclusive Education, a Diploma in Montessori Education and a TESOL teaching certification. She has now taught over ten years in teaching environments where learners are from many different countries, backgrounds and cultures, including South Africa. Applying her knowledge and strategies in her classroom, Shaakirah has learnt from these experiences. Her learners are her biggest motivation. As a teacher and lifelong learner in the service of educating young minds, Shaakirah wakes up every day to guide and nurture skills within her learners. She believes that every child can learn and progress given the right tools and assistance. Shaakirah has applied her leadership skills in her work environment as a school assessment team (SAT) member for the Pre-Primary and Foundation Phases. Shaakiah is very eager to apply her skills and knowledge tutoring on Lingoafrica.
